Xenia, Ohio's annual fireworks will go ahead with some changes to keep everyone safe and socially distanced.
Kevin Sonnycalb Memorial Fireworks show will be held as scheduled
The City of Xenia is pleased to announce the annual Kevin Sonnycalb Memorial Fireworks show will be held as scheduled, the evening of Friday, July 3rd, 2020.
The City has been working with the Sonnycalb family and Xenia Rotary to safely present this annual tradition for our city. Restrictions still in place on large gatherings prevent the annual festival at Shawnee Park from taking place.
Fireworks will be launched this year on Friday, July 3rd at 10 p.m. from the Strausburg Nursery property off of West Second Street and Progress Drive.
Organizers researched several potential location options for this year’s show and believe the Strausburg Nursery property allows for the most visibility to the public. The public is encouraged to view the show from their homes if possible, or view it from their vehicles in one of the commercial parking lots on the city’s west side. For safety reasons, drivers should not park along thoroughfares in town or along U.S. 35 to watch the show. Designated parking at Lowes, Walmart, Xenia YMCA/Reach Center, West Park Square. Make sure to tune your radio to 100.3 FM Real Roots Radio Friday night, they'll be playing a patriotic playlist to accompany the show. Xenia YMCA will also be live streaming it all on its Facebook page!
In the event of rain, the show will take place on Saturday, July 4th.
