August 7 First Friday: Adventures in August Edition
August is here, and Downtown Dayton is making the most of the final stretch of summer!
With warm evenings, bustling patios, vibrant streets, and exciting events happening throughout the city, there’s no better way to celebrate the season than during First Friday from 5–10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7. August is packed with opportunities to soak up every last bit of summer, from refreshing drinks and delicious seasonal menus to live music, local art, unique shopping, outdoor entertainment, and countless ways to make the most of the season in the heart of downtown.

ART, DANCE, MUSIC, AND FILM
The Contemporary Dayton, 25 W. Fourth St.: Threads of History: Quilts by Carolyn Mazloomi. June 12-September 12, 2026. Powerful black-and-white quilts that memorialize the lives of Black freedom fighters. Niki Johnson: Pillars of Democracy. July 1-August 15. Four large-scale collaged portraits showcasing the central role of women in the democratic process-from early 20th century suffragists to first-time voters today.
The Neon movie theater, 130 E. Fifth St.: Friday Happy Hour Patio Party - with guest hosts Amelia Robinson & Anthony Shoemaker.
Toxic Brew Company, 431 E. Fifth St.: Art and Brews: Fresh local art on the walls with new beers and drink specials with plenty of Non-Alcoholic options

The Brightside Music & Event Venue, 905 E 3rd St.: Turning Jane is a four-piece independent and self powered rock band from Los Angeles redefining modern rock for a new generation. Self-described as “Hot Girl Rock,” they fuse classic rock riffs, punk attitude, and undeniable pop hooks into a sound built for a young, insatiable audience.
America's Packard Museum, 420 S. Ludlow St.: Come out on First Friday to America’s Packard Museum for a unique and memorable experience. Find out why we have Joe Kennedy's Limo, the hearse from "The Godfather" and what the DeLorean has to do with Packard. APM displays significant cars ranging from the early 1900s to the late 1950s and beyond and is the only Packard museum operating out of a restored dealership.
