What better way to learn some basic sewing skills than to make a sleepover kit! This class will host the 3 essentials for a sleepover!
This class starts promptly at 9:45 and go till 4PM, in this five and a half hours we will make a pillowcase, drawstring bag, and a sleeping mask! Each project will build on the basic sewing skills needed to complete the majority of beginner projects, straight line sewing for the pillowcase and drawstring bag and then we will make a sleeping mask that will tackle some sewing on the curve!
Make sure to pack a lunch or snack for your child.
Prerequisites: Recommended Get to Know Your Machine – Learn the Basics but not required

“Burrito Roll” method to remove exposed seams
Seam Allowance
Trimming seams
Clipping Corners
Pivoting and turning
Cutting
Using a Pattern
Making a casing
Pinning
Flip and turn
Cutting Notches
Feeding ribbon through a casing
Attaching elastic
Ages: 8 – 16

Bring: (total of 2 1/4 Yard of Quilt Weight Cotton – Please prewash if you can)
- 3/4 Yard quilt weight cotton – this will be the main body of pillowcase (Prewashed)
- 1/4 Yard quilt weight cotton – contrast fabric for the band of pillowcase (Prewashed)
- 1 Yard of quilt weight cotton for the drawstring bag (Prewashed)
- 1 Spool of 1/2 inch wide ribbon to match your drawstring bag fabric
- 1/4 Yard of quilt weight cotton fabric for sleeping mask (Prewashed)
- Matching Thread – All-purpose polyester
Size 12 or 14 Sharps, Microtex or Universal Needle
**Supplies provided by the instructor:
Sewing kits will be available to use during the class, however, must stay in the studio after the class is over.
