Fifth Street and South Jefferson, Dayton, OH 45402 [map]
|$5 Advance tickets at local businesses or at door 7-9PM | $10 after 9PM|
Fifth Street will be closed between Patterson Blvd. and Wayne Ave. to host scary and sexy ghosts, ghouls, zombies, freaks, geeks, and more. Hauntfest is an adult event. You don't have to be 21 to enter, but you do have to be 21 to drink adult beverages, so don't forget you're photo ID if want to buy "spirits".
Local celebrities Amelia Robinson and Jim Bucher will emcee the event. There will be live music all evening on the Fifth & Pine Street Stage with local favorites Jah Soul headlining the event.
The Costume Contest kicks off at 10pm and will award 1st , 2nd, & 3rd place prizes ($300, $200, & $100) in each of three categories: Best Ghost, Best Single, and Best Group costumes. Michael Martin of the ODBA tells me they will also be on the lookout for a costume deserving of a special prize that doesn't fit into one of the 3 categories already named!!! Think you can win this? Show us!
The Oregon District's eateries and taverns look forward to serving you. Food and drinks (including spirits) will also be offered in support of other area non-profits at several stops along Fifth Street.
Hauntfest on 5th promises a fun and laughter filled evening. Word to the wise - wear or take comfortable shoes! Tickets are just $5 and are available in advance at Oregon District businesses or pay at gate when you arrive (if you pay at the gate and arrive after 9p, the cost will be $10 per person). RSVP on Facebook.
