Kichwa Garden Tour and Medicinal Plant Lesson

Alexandra Aguilar, the leader of Pakarinka Learning Center in Otavalo, Ecuador, invites you to join her for a tour of the chakra , a small garden, full of different plants and herbs to talk about their medicinal properties and traditional uses by indigenous Kichwa communities. After the tour, Alexandra will move into the kitchen to show how to prepare some of the plants into aguitas, herbal teas. Upon registering for the event you will receive a list of plants and herbs that we recommend having on hand , so that you can make and try the teas while hearing about their properties. All of the plants used are easily located at the grocery store or you might already have them in your own garden!

Alexandra will teach the class in Spanish, and there will be an English Interpreter.

This event has limited space, please sign up soon! If this event is sold out and you would like more information about a future class, please email info@tandanafoundation.org.
