The Glory of Wagner
Friday, February 22 at 8:00 p.m., & Sunday, February 24 at 3:00 p.m., 2013 - Schuster Center
In German with English Surtitles above the stage.
Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Richard Wagner, Dayton Opera salutes one of the most radical and progressive composers of all time! Wagner's style is uniquely complex and rich while his opera's are among the most challenging and beloved in the repertory. This production, much like our recent acclaimed Fidelio, will feature a glorious selection of Wagner's overtures, arias, and choruses, culminating in the completely staged Act I of his monumental Ring Cycle opera, Die Walkure.
