Roller Derby team to host bout at Hara!

The Gem City Rollergirls (GCRG) are Dayton's only skater-owned and operated flat track roller derby team. The goal of GCRG is to bring attention to Flat Track Roller Derby by showing the city of Dayton a strong, competitive sport that combines athleticism and teamwork. The diverse and dynamic women of GCRG provide positive role models for strength, independence, and camaraderie for girls of all ages.

The Gem City Rollergirls was formed in 2006 when, inspired by A&E’S series "Rollergirls”, team founder Helen of Des Troy began to scour the internet looking for other girls interested in starting a team. Since then, the team has had a variety of changing line-ups. Rollergirls are from all walks of life, from ages 18 to 40. They are single gals, moms with kids, medical assistants, teachers, accountants, and cosmetologists. They are always looking for new skaters for the team. No skills? No gear? No problem! All you need to start with is some dedication and a fierce desire to get out on the rink and kick some butt!
