YSTC announces auditions for their 2017 Summer Shakespeare Shindig Selection: JULIUS CAESAR

When:  AUDITION DATES:  MARCH 27TH AND 28TH, 2017

Time:  7-9 P.M. 

Where: Auditions will be at Antioch Midwest 

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Rehearsals will begin the third week of May and continue in June and July. Performances will be in July 16-17, 23-24 in an outdoor venue in Yellow Springs. If you cannot make the audition times and would like to be seen, please contact L. ABOUT THE PLAY: 

The rise of a populist. 
A republic which cannot govern. 
The death throes of democracy.  

When a populist leader rises to executive power in a republic headed by a divided Senate which struggles to govern, democracy gasps and rages as blood is spilt on the streets and the Senate floor.  

Directed by YSTC Artistic Director, Lorrie Sparrow-Knapp and set in a modern world, JULIUS CAESAR uses ancient history to bring light to modern-day situations.  The play will be the center-piece of the YSTC sponsored, "Artists Stand Up" Celebration, highlighting local music, dance and theater artists who use their voices to highlight social and political injustices within our culture and the world.
