The 2nd Street Market has partnered with Welcome Dayton inviting special guest artisans who recently arrived in this country to share their cultures with the Market community. Join us for music, culture sharing and artisan wares to kick off the Spring shopping season.
Participating vendors from Iran, Turkey, Eritrea, Ukraine, Rwanda, Ghana and students from the International School at Residence Park.
Eritrea - EriDayton is a local non-profit supporting Dayton’s Eritrean community. The group will be sharing about their culture and offer a sampling of Eritrean coffee & tea and homemade bread for sale.
Dayton Public Schools - The International School at Residence Park - Mix of countries - 2nd grade to high school students from DPS’s International School at Residence Park will sell artwork they have made. This includes wall décor and mirror designs.
Adoja’s Cards & Crafts - Ghana / US - Maggie and Josh use remnant fabric from seamstresses and tailors in Ghana to create handmade cards, bags, keychains, bookmarks, etc. Earrings from handmade beads purchased in markets in Ghana.
Yuliya Goncharuk - Ukraine - Yuliya will be selling miniature paintings and miniature dolls.
Sama’s SweetKichen - Iran - Sama will be selling traditional Persian sweets and baked goods.
Missing Peace Art Space - Gabriela Pickett - Rwanda
Art/Jewelry - Gulmira Mamedova - Turkey - Gulmira will be selling traditional Turkish baked goods.
Ahiska Dance Dayton - Turkey - Ahiska Dance Dayton will perform traditional Turkish dancing. Four dances will perform twice, 5-8 minutes, at Noon and 1:00 PM.
