Doolittle Raiders Reunion: Memorial Service / B-25 flyover
70 years ago today 80 men achieved the unimaginable when they took off from an aircraft carrier on a top secret mission to bomb Japan. Today at approximately 12:15 p.m., 21 B-25s will take-off one by one, form-up together over the Dayton area and then fly in formation over the museum at 1 p.m. - just prior to the Doolittle Raiders Memorial Service in the museum's Memorial Park.
The B-25s will fly over the museum at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 1:30-3 p.m. in Memorial Park (weather dependent). These activities are part of a reunion commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid. Also today, The film Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo will be shown in the museum's Carney Auditorium as part of the reunion commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid.
