PRIDE Programs at Dayton Metro Library

June is PRIDE Month, and to celebrate Dayton Metro Library is offering many programs that give patrons of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies of all ages the opportunity to show their PRIDE support. Here’s a schedule for the first part of June: 

Pride in the Park 

Main Library, Cooper Park, Saturday, June 3, 12-3 pm 

Celebrate Pride with games, activities, music, and Dayton-area community groups. For All Ages  

Pride – Parade and Festival 

Downtown Dayton’s Courthouse Square, Saturday, June 3, 12-4 pm 

Look for us on Courthouse Square during Dayton’s Pride Festival. For All Ages  

Pride on 5th 

Oregon District, Saturday, June 3, festivities begin at 12 pm 

DML will be at the Kids Zone during this free, all-day event that includes food and music. For All Ages  

Pride Month Movie: Love, Simon 

Southeast Branch, Saturday, June 3, 2-4 pm  

Rated PG-13, 2018 - For Adults  

Pride Week! 

Southeast Branch, Monday, June 5 – Saturday, June 10, during Library hours  

Teens can celebrate all week long with crafts and activities. Materials will be provided. 

Teen DIY: Annual Summer Tie-Dye! 

Northwest Branch, Monday, June 5, 5-7 pm 

Tie-dye socks, shirts, and bandanas with rainbow colors. Registration required. 

Pride No-Sew Sock Gnomes 

Main Library, Conference Room 1B, Monday, June 5, 6:30-8 pm  

Celebrate Pride by creating rainbow no-sew sock gnomes. Materials will be provided. Registration required. For Adults   

Introduction to Gender Non-Conformity 

Main Library, Conference Room 1B, Saturday, June 10, 11 am-12 pm and Kettering-Moraine Branch, 2-3 pm 

Closet Transformation cofounders discuss pronouns and transgender umbrella vocabulary. For Adults  

Craft: Pride Wreaths 

Kettering-Moraine Branch, Monday, June 12, 2:30-3:30 pm  

Create paper wreaths with assorted colors that represent several types of Pride flags. Materials will be provided. Registration required. For Adults  

LGBTQIA+ Book Club 

Main Library, Conference Room 3A, Monday, June 12, 7-8:30 pm 

Lavender House by Lev AC Rosen 

For Adults 

Pride Woven Rainbows 

Northwest Branch, Tuesday, June 13, 4-5 pm  

Create colorful woven rainbows. For All Ages
