Come close out the summer with the KCB with our final concert in our Polen Farm Summertime, Sousa, and Sundaes series. The show will feature a variety of music, including patriotic Sousa marches and a medley of classic Americana folk tuners in Morton Gould's "American Salute." Then we take an exciting turn with "La Fonda," a vibrant tango featuring a bombastic opening trumpet solo and delightful clarinet lines throughout. A piece from earlier this year, "Kirkpatrick Fanfare" makes a joyous return, featuring the Irish bodhrán drum.
Last but not least, the Kettering Civic Band is proud to welcome guest soloist Eric Barga (bassoon) for "Andante and Hungarian Rondo" by Carl Maria von Weber - a performance seven years in the making! This will be an experience you won't want to miss!
The concert is free and family friendly. Seating is general admission, weather permitting, please bring lawn chairs. Convenient parking is available in the Polen Farm North lot or the adjacent Kennedy Park, while the limited parking spaces in the Polen Farm main drive are reserved for those needing to minimize their walking distance.
The Kettering Civic Band is grateful for continued financial support from the City of Kettering, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, Rosewood Arts Center, Corcovado Foundation, and individual donors. More information is at www.ketteringcivicband.org
