Ghostbusters Weekend in downtown Miamisburg

Who you gonna call? This October, the answer is downtown Miamisburg.

The sixth annual Ghostbusters Weekend returns Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, bigger than ever with the debut of Ghostbustin’ in the Burg: Project PKE (Public Kindness and Empathy), a weekend-long celebration bringing together Ghostbusters fans, local artists, small businesses and the Miamisburg community. 

Presented by The Real Ohio Ghostbusters, this year's expanded event stretches beyond the big screen and throughout downtown Miamisburg. Great Things in the Burg, the Plaza Theatre and P3 Paula’s Paranormal Project are among the local organizations and businesses helping bring the weekend's activities to life. 

The Historic Plaza Theatre will continue the tradition of Ghostbusters Weekend with four movie screenings throughout the weekend. Outside the theatre, visitors can experience a Ghostbusters-themed car show in Riverfront Park, vendors, food trucks, games, raffles and plenty of opportunities to encounter Ghostbusters-inspired vehicles and costumed characters. 

And, of course, it wouldn't be Ghostbusters without a little slime. Visitors will have the chance to see some familiar local faces get slimed with ectoplasm during the weekend. 

Great Things in the Burg will join the fun with a booth next to the Plaza Theatre, where the first 100 visitors can pick up free swag bags. Local artists and downtown merchants will also get into the spirit with themed offerings and activities throughout the weekend. 

P3 Paula’s Paranormal Project will offer even more ways to explore the stranger side of Miamisburg, including a themed brunch at Lucky Star Brewery and Cantina, Miamisburg Ghostbustin’ Tours and a Sip and Paint at Star City Booksellers. 

At the heart of the expanded weekend is Project PKE: Public Kindness and Empathy, bringing a community-focused purpose to the celebration. Proceeds from donations, games and raffles will benefit Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, helping turn a weekend inspired by ghosts and proton packs into an opportunity to make a positive impact.
