Scott Gibbs, known for his word paintings work, is the featured artist for the month of April in the Springboro Performing Arts Center, 115 Wright Station Way.
The Springboro Performing Arts Center, 115 Wright Station Way, is showcasing photographer Tom Croce’s exhibit "Tatanka - Return from the Brink, a story of the American Bison,” Nov. 1 – 22. Photos included are from his visits to the Great Plains from Kansas to North Dakota.
Inspired to share their story, Croce will present the history of the bison over the last 250 years and their journey from near extinction to National Mammal at noon Saturday, Nov. 4 in the theater. The event is free and open to the public.
Originally from Cleveland, Croce attended Miami University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design. He then earned a master’s degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. He spent most of his professional life as an architect, but never lost his love of nature and photography. In 2006 he began to pursue his passion for photography. Croce strives to make images that are experienced, engaging the viewer’s mind and imagination, expressing the emotions and feeling he experienced at the moment the exposure was made.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with some extended hours, or by appointment by calling 937-748-5781. The exhibit runs through Nov. 22. The show is free and open to the public.
