WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE Annual Pumpkin Chuck! Entrance at the Spinning Road gate on Airway.
The 15th annual Pumpkin Chuck will take place on Friday 25 October, 2019. This popular fall event will be held on the flight line behind the National Museum of the United States Air Force. (Use the entrance at the Spinning Road gate on Airway - 5901 Airway Road, Riverside OH 45431).
The annual EZ Pumpkin Chuck, put on by AFLCMC/EN-EZ at WPAFB, is a USAF engineering event designed to attract, inspire, and build on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills with students in order to develop our nation’s future scientific and technical workforce in areas such as aviation, aerospace, and defense.
This event will have teams from engineers, students, and hobbyists building trebuchets or catapults to launch pumpkins for distance and accuracy competitions. The event will also include a pumpkin pie bake-off and pie eating contest to add to all the viewer excitement.
This event is open to the public and all are welcome to take part in the festivities by building one of these historic chucker machines, baking a scrumptious pumpkin pie, or just coming out to enjoy some good food, homemade pumpkin pie, and watch the gourds fly.
