Women Strong Exhibit & Panel
Women Strong is a multi-media exhibit that celebrates the lives and work of women artists in the Dayton region. It will be on display at the Northwest Branch of the Dayton Metro Library through May 31. A panel of women artists will share an open discussion on Tuesday, May 7, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Library, located at 2410 Philadelphia Drive.
The 11 exhibiting artists are: Diana Barr, Yvette Walker-Dalton, Audrey Davis, Lois Fortson-Kirk, Erin Smith-Glenn, Cydnie Deeds King, Janet Lasley, Nasrin Majidi, Marsha Pippenger, Frances Turner and Yufeng Wang.
Women artists from the Dayton area will participate in the panel discussion on May 7, sharing experiences that affirmed their direction as artists. Refreshments will be served.
The brainchild of Audrey Masden Davis and Janet Olney Lasley, retired educators, friends and artists, Women Strong began with a gathering of fellow artists to share creative energy and support each other’s work. The idea driving the project was to bring women of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds together as a team to show and share their work. They have since become a warm, encouraging and challenging team of women.
The exhibit and panel discussion are free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Audrey Davis at audrey@wbdavisart.com or Janet Lasley at janetolneylasley@gmail.com.
