Read, Make Art, & Laugh: Next Chapter Book Club partners with We Care Arts

Wright Memorial Public Library is teaming up with We Care Arts to add an exciting artistic twist to two Next Chapter Book Club programs on July 27 (2 p.m.) and October 19 (6 p.m.) at Wright Library, 1776 Far Hills Avenue in Oakwood. Next Chapter Book Club promotes literacy, social connections, and inclusion for adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The workshop will begin with a collaborative reading from the collection of short stories, What Do you Want on Your Pancakes?, followed by a brief introduction of the featured art medium before exploring the creative concepts behind a celebrated author or illustrator.

For the July 27 session, attendees will create art with felt inspired by author/illustrator Eric Carle.
The inspiration for the October 19 session will be announced in the fall.

Registration is required. Maximum of 15 participants.

We Care Arts is a non-profit organization focused on the healing power of art and community; empowering adults who are living with developmental disabilities, addiction, and mental health issues.

This session is made possible with grant funding from the Wright Library Foundation.
