Jordan Hart and the Underground Railroad Bicycle Route

Jordan Hart is a local photographer, cyclist, scout leader, and all around outdoor enthusiast.  Starting at a young age Hart got hooked on the outdoors and adventure.  In 2003, he rode to Lake Erie with his scout troup and fell in love with long distance cycling.  In the fall of 2016, Hart rode his bicycle over 2,000 miles along America's legendary route to freedom, the Underground Railroad.  From Mobile, Alabama to Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, the Underground Railroad Bicycle Route traces the path many slaves took to freedom from the Deep South to Canada, passing points of interest and historical sites along the way including many in Southwest Ohio and Springboro.  Learn about the trials, tribulations, and high points of the journey!  Open to all ages.  This event is co-sponsored by the City of Springboro and the Franklin-Springboro Public Library.  For more information contact Dan Boron at (937) 748-6183 or danb@cityofspringboro.com.
