Dayton Philharmonic - Principal Quartet & Friends

According to composer Evan Chambers, his String Quartet: Three Memories is a byproduct of his love of Irish traditional music that "struck me as an admonition that we should live life like we make music, with love, a deep sense of the simple and overwhelming beauty around us, and with wild abandon.” The piece begins with a lament that portrays a sense of sadness and loss followed by two Irish jigs, one of which was inspired by a fox standing in a field and the other by a laughing man driving a farm cart.

The DPO Principal Quartet consists of Concertmaster Jessica Hung, Principal Second Violin Kirstin Greenlaw, Principal Viola Sheridan Currie, and Principal Cello Andra Lunde Padrichelli.
