Dayton Million Mom March

Epidemiologist Gary Slutkin has made the parallel between the spread of epidemic diseases to the spread of violence and surprisingly it works! Come join us make a social/ cultural change for a better tomorrow in ending gun violence.

Join Dayton Million Moms March to memorializes the death of our children who have died too early at the hand of gun violence and accidental shootings. We march together in the spirt of the first Mothers Day back in 1908 born out of activism for peace. As a group we demand common sense gun laws to keep our children safe.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, three people die from gunshot wounds every day in Ohio. Gun violence and accidental shootings have been on the rise and our children are on the front lines. In Southwest Ohio, we have seen too many children killed and or wounded by gun violence, including the youngest victim Baby Elijah Johnson who at thirteen months old was shot and killed during a drive by shooting on January 15, 2016 in Dayton, OH.

This must stop. Join us as a public statement to say #ENOUGH by healing together through remembering those we have lost to gun violence, suicide and accidental shootings. The march will pause at Courthouse Square for a speaker, a Moment of Silence and to call out the names of those we have lost.

Families, women, men and mothers are all welcome to join in marching together.
