Epiphany Players Drama Ministry Celebrates 30 Years with ‘Bright Star’ 

The Epiphany Players Drama Ministry will present its 30th summer musical, Bright Star, July 14-16 at 7:30 p.m., July 17 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., and July 18 at 2:30 p.m. Performances will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Avenue, Centerville, OH, 45459. The past 18 months have been incredibly challenging for us all, and absolutely devastating to the performing arts community. Bringing live theatre back to the Epiphany stage this summer fills us with hope for the future. This is a particularly special year for the drama ministry at Epiphany Lutheran Church, as they celebrate 30 years and 30 summer musicals.

BRIGHT STAR is inspired by a true story that spans decades and accompanied by a mesmerizing and toe-tapping bluegrass score from Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past, and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives.

Creative Team David Brush (Music Director) and Megan Wean Sears (Director/Choreographer) share, "This show reminds us of the strength we find in ourselves, in each other and in our roots. It is appropriate that BRIGHT STAR is steeped in the deep tradition of American Appalachia - gospel and bluegrass - music that reminds us where we came from and where we are going.”
