Local Boutique Helps Families in Need
Bloom schedules second charitable Giving is Gorgeous Event
Vandalia, Ohio— August 20, 2014 — Bloom, a local clothing boutique, is hosting their second Giving is Gorgeous event on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 from 6 pm – 9 pm. For this month’s event the proceeds benefit Jeff Meade who is courageously battling colon cancer.
“We are excited to be able to help out another family within the community” said Kristy Stephens, Owner of Bloom. “At our first Giving is Gorgeous event last month, we received some fabulous donations that we were able to sell raffle tickets for. The turnout for the event was unreal and we were able to donate over $2,500 to a recovery fund for a young lady going through treatment for an eating disorder.” In addition to the numerous donations that were received, a portion of all Bloom apparel sales also were contributed to the cause.
For the August event, all proceeds will go to Jeff Meade, a Vandalia local who was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He is blessed with a loving and caring family who will be by his side. His treatment is expected to last about 9 months, during which time he will be unable to work. The event at Bloom is just one of the ways his friends are helping to raise money for him during chemo and radiation treatments.
“We are trying to raise awareness on several different causes. We hope to be able to continue the Giving is Gorgeous campaign and event monthly and help out a family or individual that lives within the community” Stephens said. The September in-store fundraiser is already scheduled as well as commitments to sponsorships for walks and events in the next few weeks. “The Giving is Gorgeous campaign has been so well received by our customers. With the money raised through each event allows us to give back.”
The August event will feature in-store savings, hors d’oeuvers, door prizes, gift raffles and much more. It will be held at Bloom, 350 W. National Rd.
