Ed Pittman is a visionary no matter if it is as the founder of punk band and internationally known Toxic Reasons, an originator of the US hardcore punk movement, a solo performer, singer in Dayton, Ohio’s New Regrets or now as an Outsider Artist and creator of innovative abstract paintings.
The Front Street Building is proud to display the paintings of Ed Pittman on April 5th during the First Friday Art Hop.
Ed Pittman promises it to be “the most fantastically, fabulisish art opening in modern times”.
Ed Pittman’s opening reception will take place from 5-10 PM at Front Street on Friday, April 5th. Front Street Galleries Building 100 enter door C-D -galley on the 1st FLOOR.
Ed Pittman will be present to discuss his work and his artistic process. Light refreshments will be served.
Ed Pittman has taken the do-it-yourself punk ethos and has applied it to art to create amazing abstract pieces. While some of his works harken back to his song “War Hero” and the movie “The Execution of Private Slovik” (featuring fellow Daytonian Martin Sheen) others like “The Nest” are truly inspired by nature.
In the music world, Ed Pittman’s punk releases such as “Independence” are highly prized collector items. The “outsider art” of Ed Pittman is soon to follow.
The opening will take place on April 5th during the First Friday Art Hop and will remain on display in the Front Street Experience through the 14th, when it will then be moved to a secondary site within the Front Street Galleries.
