Anti-Hate Community Forum

Several community organizations have discussed holding an event to counter this group's message of hate. In order to make sure that this event is safe and inclusive, the Dayton City Commission is asking interested citizens to gather to discuss a community-wide response.

All members of the Dayton City Commission will be present.

This forum will be an opportunity to strategize about how Dayton will respond as a community, with a voice united against hate. Any event that comes from this forum will be community-led, but the City would like to help facilitate this conversation.

"Understandably, many leaders in our community have wanted to demonstrate that this group and their hateful message is not welcome in Dayton," said Erica Fields, Executive Director of the Dayton Human Relations Council. "We're encouraging residents to use this forum as an opportunity to talk about a coordinated response and to make sure that any counter-event is safe and inclusive."

Anyone who is interested in discussing a unified response is encouraged to attend. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd.
