Wright State Dance Presents The 2026 Emerging Choreographers Concert
The stage is set to ignite with the passion and innovation of the next generation of dance artists as the Wright State University Dance Program proudly announces the "Emerging Choreographers Concert." This highly anticipated event will showcase a spectacular array of world-premiere choreography, featuring the extraordinary choreographic talents of both junior and senior students.
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable experience at the Wright State University Creative Arts Center DanceSpace 170 on February 6th and 7th at 7pm, with a final performance being held on the 8th at 2pm. This dynamic showcase promises to captivate audiences with exhilarating new student choreographic works that push the boundaries of creativity and artistic expression.
At Wright State, our dance majors undergo rigorous training in diverse dance styles, setting the stage for a journey of self-discovery as budding choreographers. The Emerging Choreographers Concert is the culmination of their dedication, providing a platform for these talented individuals to transform into choreographers before our very eyes. From selecting music and designing costumes to experimenting with lighting, each choreographer's unique vision will come to life on stage.
The concert will feature awe-inspiring choreography by the Dance Ensemble seniors: Kailey
Colyer, Alia Dalton, Jessie Etling, Carly Hanson, Audrey Lee, Hannah McGuffey, Sam Minneman, and
Jenna Mumford, as well as the outstanding juniors: Ally Jo Buck, Emma Cole, Sawyer Hertel, and Lylla Kovacs. Their excitement, artistry, and individual styles promise an exceptionally versatile and engaging performance that will leave a lasting impression.
Our choreographers will be partnering with six talented lighting designers: Mairead Beverley, Jennifer Dillard, Pham Bao Uyen, Dylan Serrano, Raya Smith, and Keb Stevens whom will create captivating visuals that will bring each choreographer’s artistic vision to life.
Don't miss this limited engagement—three nights only on February 6th, 7th, and 8th. We invite all art enthusiasts to join us for an unforgettable evening of groundbreaking choreography. To support future student productions, a suggested donation of $5.00 is recommended and appreciated.
