Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto
Our season finale is an all Tchaikovsky program featuring the Polonaise from the opera Eugene Onegin, Capriccio Italien, and his virtuoso showpiece, the violin concerto in D major, with special guest soloist Filip Pogády. The MVSO is delighted to present this artist to the Miami Valley. Born in Slovakia, Pogády’s family later moved to Austria where he began studying violin. Since his time studying with Pinkus Zukerman and at the Manhattan School of Music, Pogády has based himself in New York City. Praised by critics for his “lightening-like virtuosity,” Pogády will bring his prodigious talents to the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. You don’t want to miss this one!
