This show on Sunday, October 5 will feature music by Cannonball Adderley, James Brown, Roberta Flack, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Billy Joel, Elton John, Ella Fitzgerald, and John Coltrane. Two one-hour sets each begin at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. $10 cover at the door
The Jimmy Leach Jazztet is led by Jimmy on voice, trumpet, and flugelhorn. Chris Caporale on piano; Colin Palmieri on tenor saxophone; Dan Fabricatore on double bass; and Bradley Cordonnier on drums. Chris and Colin are both top graduates of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Dan has a degree in jazz bass from William Patterson University, and Bradley got his training at the University of Dayton. Jimmy has three degrees in music, with his terminal degree from Boston University where he studied trumpet with Tom Rolfs, principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony. Jimmy's dissertation research focused on the music of Louis Armstrong. While in Boston, Jimmy's singing took him to Trinity Episcopal Church and jazz clubs as well as to Fenway Park where he sang the National Anthem for the Red Sox. Jimmy's first recording is a tribute to his fellow Oklahoma native, Chet Baker, with the album: "Jimmy Leach Sings Chet Baker," streaming at your favorite music site.
