Carillon Concert at the Church of the Ascension in Middletown.
The Sidney Case McCammon Memorial Carillon at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Middletown will come to life at the hands and feet of Alan Bowman on Sunday, October 12 at 3 p.m. Alan grew up in West Alexandria, playing piano and organ at his church and earned a minor in piano performance at Miami University at Oxford, Ohio. After serving as a church organist in Florida churches for 25 years, Alan earned a diploma from the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium and subsequently performed concerts in Europe and the United States. In 2023, Alan was appointed as the official carillonneur at Carillon Park in Dayton. This concert will feature music by Handel, Bizet, Leonard Cohen, Richard Rodgers, Mozart, Verdi, Liszt, Franck, and Edith Piaf. Bring your lawn chair and some food and drink and enjoy some great music performed by the finest carillonists in the country.
