Voices & Stories: Immigration Journeys & Community Integration
Centerville-Washington Diversity Council invites the community to the next Voices & Stories event with a focus on Immigration Journeys & Community Integration. The event, co-sponsored by ContempoRoast Coffee and Roastery, will highlights immigrant journeys. Local immigrants will share their unique journeys and experiences with themes of starting over and building belonging, including stories of immigration, naturalization, workforce integration, and ways our communities can become more welcoming and inclusive.
When: Wednesday, September 9, 2026; 6-7:30 PM
Where: ContempoRoast Coffee & Roastery, 967 S Main St, Centerville
The event will begin with an opportunity to enjoy snacks and network, followed by a short tour of ContempoRoast and a special display highlighting coffee beans, the roasting process, and educational materials about coffee-growing regions around the world. If you wish to purchase coffee from ContempoRoast, please arrive early as they will close at 6 PM for our program.
Following the networking and tour, participants can relax and enjoy refreshments while hearing the inspiring stories of three local residents as they share their personal immigration journeys. Our presenters for the program include RJ Francisco, Vida McDowell, and Cristina Sanchez. Please join us!
