Downtown Dayton Black Business Hop

The Downtown Dayton Partnership and partners in the first-ever Gem City Black Business Month invite you to explore and support Black-owned businesses in downtown Dayton during the Downtown Dayton Black Business Hop on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Hop will include Black-owned shops, studios, salons, restaurants, cafes and more in downtown Dayton. The official tour will start with coffee at Third Perk, 146 E. Third St., and include spending the afternoon shopping, experiencing, and enjoying as many of the businesses as you can. The event will conclude with an after-party at 1Eleven Flavor House, 111 W. First St., at 3 p.m., where raffle prize winners will be announced.

The event aims to build awareness of downtown’s Black-owned businesses, to encourage participants to engage with them, and to generate new customers and support for Black business. Purchases as businesses are not required to participate in the raffle, but strongly encouraged. 

Download the free Roamli app (available for iOS and Android) and find the Downtown Black Business Hop  event by using the code BlackBizHop in the “challenge” section of the app. In the Business Hop challenge in the app, participants will be able to see all downtown Dayton locations where they can “check in'' by snapping a photo. Each “check in'' earns the participant an entry to the raffle, which includes hundreds of Downtown Dollars digital gift cards! Winners will be announced around 3:15 p.m. at 1Eleven, although winners need not be present to claim their prize.

After the Hop, guests may stick around for dinner and drinks at 1Eleven, or make their way over to RiverScape MetroPark for the free 4 Dayton By Dayton concert.

Can’t attend the Hop? Download the map on the DDP’s website that showcases ALL of downtown Dayton’s Black-owned businesses, and create a walking tour to shop, drink and dine throughout the month of August.
