Hand Embroidery of The Month: Perfect for Beginners

We will use Awesome Animals by Stephanie Carswell. Each month we will meet for 2-2.5 hours and learn the new stitches needed for that month's animal.

We will start the series with a class in Dec. You will learn how to transfer your designs to the provided fabric, how to hoop the fabric, and the basic stitches needed for the first class. This will let you practice those stitches a bit before we meet for the first class of the Series in Jan.

Purchase the entire 12 months of classes; it will be $25 per class

I designed this class to be affordable so you can guarantee yourself at least one outing (and bring friends). This class comes with almost all the supplies you need; the only thing you need to bring is your embroidery floss so you can choose your color palette. I've included suggestions in the links below with class details.

Remember: By purchasing this listing, you will not be enrolled for 12 months or any of 2027; this will enroll you in the first class, where you will get the kit, learn how to use the transfers, hoop fabric, and the first 5 stitches.

This listing is for the first class, where we'll review the sewing kit, the book, and the order of animals.

This month's project is Hand Embroidery of the Month: Perfect for Beginners. It is a great choice for anyone new to stitching.

Then you will get a demo on how to use the transfers in the book with the provided fabric! Next, you will hoop your sampler for the first 5 hand embroidery stitches.

The first five stitches you will learn :

• Backstitching
• French Knot
• Satin Stitch
• Stem Stitch
• Straight/Seed Stitch

12 Pieces of cotton, cut and serged, to use to stitch your design (you're more than welcome to change it out if you want)

You will need:

Embroidery Floss - Please do not get pearl cotton floss/thread or textured cotton floss; this will be harder to thread onto the needle.

Sublime Stitching has some great sets; Sulky is great, or you can choose from DMC threads.

You for sure need white and black (just make sure it is for HAND embroidery, not machine embroidery; it is a different weight).
