Time Travelers Summer Youth Workshops

Choose from the following half-day workshops located at the historic Asahel Wright House in Centerville:

Tuesday, June 23 -
Old Time Woodworking & Birds
Build a wooden birdhouse using woodworking tools from the 1800s. Students will also learn about local birds and what makes them unique.

Wednesday, June 24 - A Summer Day of Work and Play
In the early 1800s, families came to Ohio ready to work. Try your hand at churning butter, using a washboard, and making tin lanterns.

Thursday, June 25 - School Days the Old Time Way
Experience what school was like in 1890 in a one-room schoolhouse. Students will use slates, write with quill pens, and play recess games.

Friday, June 26 - Sheep & Wool
Sheep played a big role in the lives of early settlers. A sheep farmer will join us to share the history of sheep in the 1800s, how wool is processed after shearing, and the ways that wool was used and is still used today. Students will make a craft with wool to take home.
