Good People
Margaret Walsh, a lifelong resident of Southie, a blue collar Boston neighborhood, is fired for tardiness from her job as a cashier at a dollar store. A single mother with a handicapped adult daughter, Margaret discusses her options with her two best friends. Things look bleak until she guilt-trips an old boyfriend from high school who has done well for himself into inviting her to his party, where she hopes to find a new employer. Things go from bad to worse before Margaret gets help from a caring individual and finds new hope that things will turn out all right.
GOOD PEOPLE was voted Best Play in 2011 by the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, and was nominated for two Tony Awards.
