Guys and Dolls appear on Carroll’s Stage
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows and performed by arrangement with MTI Music Theatre International, this musical tells the story of the unlikeliest of Manhattan pairings: a high-rolling gambler, Sky Masterson, with Sarah, a puritanical missionary, and a showgirl, Adalaide, who dreams of the straight-and-narrow with a crap game manager, Nathan Detroit, who is anything but! Add in Nicely Nicely and gambler friends with a full ensemble of dancing show girls and missionaries and the result is an entertaining experience!
Guys and Dolls features some of Frank Loesser’s most memorable tunes, including the hilarious “Adelaide’s Lament,” the romantic “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” the exuberant “If I Were a Bell,” and the classic “Luck Be a Lady.”
