Pink Martini at The Schuster
“If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, hopefully we’d be that band.” (Thomas Lauderdale, bandleader/pianist)
PINK MARTINI features a dozen musicians and performs sold-out performances across the globe, including Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Walt Disney Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Paris’ legendary L’Olympia Theatre. Their debut album, Sympathique, was released in 1997 and quickly became an international phenomenon. Since then, the band has collaborated and performed with numerous artists, including Jimmy Scott, Carol Channing, Jane Powell, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Henri Salvador, Chavela Vargas, filmmaker Gus Van Sant, Courtney Taylor-Taylor of The Dandy Warhols, Japanese legend Hiroshi Wada, Faith Prince, Mamie Van Doren, and the original cast of “Sesame Street.”
