Presentation: The Life of 19th Century reformer, Orson S. Murray
Presentation of the Life of 19th Century reformer, Orson S. Murray, at the Warren County Historical Society in downtown Lebanon, Ohio, July 19 at 12 noon. Author of eight books about the Underground Railroad, Tom Calarco will present the story of Orson S. Murray, a man ahead of not only his time, but even our time today. He was a gadfly who challenged all conventional ideas, an abolitionist, communitarian, and natural health advocate, among so many other things. He wasn't always right but more often he was, and his ideas still resonate and speak directly to us and the current problems we are facing. Doors open at 11:30 for lunch, which will be followed by the presentation, and a signing of Tom's new book about Murray, A Higher Law.
