Brenda is an artist working in the alternative photographic process of Cyanotype Printing. This is a very popular alternative process for artists who begin image printing without ever picking up a camera! This is an early photographic process, used since 1842, and was adopted very early for making blueprints. It is a process that naturally produces blue (Cyan) images and often uses objects placed directly on the chemically coated paper or fabric, which is then exposed to UV or direct sunlight to produce a shadowgram.
Brenda will briefly describe the process and describe her work which is on display in our gallery. The images are reflective of the natural beauty around her home in the Hocking Hills.
This talk will be of interest to those who follow work in basic photo processes, and to those who love art objects of all types. The images are lovely and created in this very interesting process. Some of the images also include surprising elements. Come join us to share a glass of wine and enjoy this special event.
