Wandering Griffin Tailgate Party
To celebrate the return of gridiron action, the Wandering Griffin will be hosting their first annual Opening Day Tailgate Party on Sunday, September 10.
“We’re fencing off our parking lot and making a whole day of it,” Brian Young, partner in Wandering Griffin said. “ESPN 1410 is doing a live broadcast in the morning, we’re going to have patio and lawn games set up, Velvet Crush will be playing, there will be beer and food for sale in the lot – it’s going to be a blast!”
Starting at 9am, ESPN will be broadcasting live and the pub and lot will be open for “kegs and eggs” service starting at 11am. Fans can show up early and sign up for the cornhole tournament happening from 11am-1pm while listening to Velvet Crush play live in the parking lot.
“If you weren’t lucky enough to be rooting for a team that made the playoffs, it’s been nine months since the last game,” Young said. “It’s a new season and no hope is too outlandish yet. Who’s year is it going to be?”
As for the games, Wandering Griffin is offering NFL Ticket on all of their TVs throughout the pub, on high lumen outdoor TVs, and a 120 inch high definition projector.
“Whatever your team, we’ll have a TV and a cold beer waiting for you,” Young said. “The Dayton Bills Backers will be set up in one of the rooms and we actually have Western New York’s Sahlen’s Hot Dogs, which you’re sure to like even if you aren’t a Buffalo fan.”
