Kirtan is derived from a Sanskrit root meaning "to call, recite, praise, or glorify." Put simply, kirtan is the use of call and response singing (using sacred mantras and the names of the Divine) to cultivate love and devotion. It is a very active and dynamic form of meditation/worship using improvisational music to allow you to get out of your head and into your heart. Kirtan is a joyous vocal prayer as an offering to the Divine.

We play harmonium (a small hand pumped organ), mridanga (an Indian clay drum), kartals (hand cymbals) and loads of other instruments. You may come just to receive, although we encourage you to sing and play along!

After kirtan, we offer prasad, which is a meal that has been first offered to the Divine. Prasad means grace, an offering or gift, and in this case, it is also community. The food served is always vegetarian (often vegan & GF), and we always have an assortment of teas available. If you have food sensitives or dietary restrictions, please let us know!

This is a relaxed offering, appropriate for all levels, all ages. You do not need to be a singer or a skilled musician; the quality of the kirtan is indicated by the qualities of your heart, not musical proficiency.

Raghunath’s spiritual search began early and first found expression in the hardcore punk scene, where he founded the band Youth of Today and co-founded Revelation Records, building an international movement rooted in clean living and self-discipline. Yet even at the height of success, he felt called to something deeper. At 22, he left it all behind and traveled to Vrindavan, immersing himself in yoga, sacred study, and devotional life under the guidance of respected teachers. Initiated into the Vaishnava lineage in 1991 and given the name Raghunath, he spent over six years living as a monk, fully devoted to spiritual practice.

Today, he lives and teaches the integration of spiritual depth with everyday life. As co-founder of Supersoul Farm and co-host of the Wisdom of the Sages podcast, he leads pilgrimages, teacher trainings, and retreats around the world. His work blends sacred texts, kirtan, philosophy, and practical application for modern seekers. His mission is simple: to share the transformative power of the yoga tradition with integrity, gratitude, and heart.
