Juneteenth Festival

Juneteenth is celebrated in over 250 cities nationally and recognized by 40 million African Americans as their freedom and Independence Day. The local Juneteenth festival attracts hundreds of people in Dayton, Ohio and is considered one of the largest celebrations in the area.

This year’s Juneteenth will start at 9 am with a health and fitness kick off followed by a full day of activities for all ages.

The schedule includes Zumba, live cooking demonstration, line dancing, fun, physically interactive activities with partner Five Rivers Metro Park offering several outdoor experience areas to try such as slacklining and BMX Bike riding. There is a Kids’ area is for those 12 and under to enjoy a party trains, hands on fun activities. Finally, The Village offers attendees a place to buy items a variety of items from food to local designer clothes.

Juneteenth Festival is taking place at McIntosh Park, which is located at Edwin C Moses Blvd and W Riverview Ave in Dayton. McIntosh Park - In recognition of W. S. McIntosh's heroic efforts and civic responsibility, the City of Dayton named this park in his honor - W. S. McIntosh Park.
