Nature Animation Workshop
In this full-day stop-motion animation workshop with animator and artist, Madeline Fix, participants will work with natural objects to collaborate on a short animated film, starring natural objects and the sounds of the Glen. Participants will create a story and characters, and then realize the film using digital cameras and a laptop. High School to Adult, $55 Glen Helen Members, $65 nonmembers, scholarships available. About the workshop facilitator: Madeleine Fix (aka Maddie Fix) is a multimedia specialist, sound recordist and interdisciplinary artist/ musician. Her work has been exhibited and music performed at venues around the United States. Recent spots include: Pilates & Arts (Los Angeles, CA), The Columbus International Film & Video Festival; Paging Columbus (OSU Urban Arts Space; Columbus, OH); PLGArts (Brooklyn, NY); Artists’ Television Access (San Francisco); La Superette Affordable Art Sale (New York) and Not My Small Diary zine. She’s written two full-length albums (Turning a Helicopter and The Sliver of Light), composed original music for Douglas Chang’s independent film, Absent Father (distributed by Vanguard Cinema), and is currently at work on new music and media projects.
