Americana Festival July 4th, 2018

The Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival started in 1972 as a sidewalk sale promoted by the city's downtown merchants.  This year, more than 85,000 people will attend the festival and more than 100 volunteers will be working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Note the fireworks show has moved to July 3.

July 3rd - Americana Holiday Concert

The night BEFORE the Festival, Centerville VFW Flag Ceremony and Centerville Arts Commission’s Americana Holiday Concert: 7 p.m. Featuring the Centerville Community Band and the Centerville Community Chorus at Stubbs Park, W. Spring Valley Road

July 3rd - Fireworks!

The night BEFORE the Festival, enjoy a FREE concert with terrific music before the fantastic Miami Valley Hospital Americana Fireworks show! Entertainment starts at 8.30 p.m., Fireworks at 10 p.m. Enjoy music synchronized to the fireworks on 92.9 Jack FM.

July 4th Americana Festival

5K Run: 7:30 a.m. Centerville High School Stadium, East Franklin Street

Americana Parade: 10 a.m.

A Regular highlight of the Americana Festival is the parade. The Parade begins at 10am on East Franklin Street, west of Centerville High School, and proceeds West to Cline Elementary on Virginia Avenue. Showcasing more than 120 units, the parade features numerous bands, floats, and numerous mobile and walking units.

Street Fair: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Featuring 300 craft and food booths, artists, musical entertainment and a children’s game and activity area, the Street Fair also showcases staged and strolling performers.  The arts, crafts and food booths are located on N. Main Street from Franklin Street north into Benham’s Grove, and at the Park District Activity Center.

Entertainment: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Entertainment begins at 11a.m. on July 4th featuring a great line up! Look for strolling performers including jugglers, clowns, musicians, stilt walkers and a German wheel. Bands playing rock, country, jazz, pop, big band and more will be entertaining on stages at Routsong Funeral Home, Burke Orthodontics, Benham’s Grove and Centerville Service Station. Enjoy karaoke as well as other performers in the Children’s Area at Activity Center Park.

Antique, Classic & Custom Car Show: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Antique, Classic and Custom Car and Truck Show,, will be located near Benham's Grove on North Main Street. 

Children’s Activities: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

This year's Children's Area (Just North of Benhams Grove) at the Americana Festival will be the best yet! All of the activities and attractions focus on children and youth through middle school. The activity Center location offers a zero-depth spray ground, an all-access playground, shelter with indoor restrooms, and tennis courts. Additional attractions will include:

  • Games for the kids
  • Inflatable attractions and climbing wall from Busy Bouncing, Inc.
  • Tents and seating from Kosins Party & Tent Rental
  • Vendors offering a variety of items
  • Live Entertainment-Blue Wind Dancer
  • Local Community organizations offering information and activities
