Willie Nelson & Old Crow Medicine Show at The Fraze
Six decades after his start in the music business, Willie Nelson has earned the title “living legend.” After writing early classics such as “Hello Walls” and the much-recorded “Crazy,” Nelson found his own solid footing as a performer in the 1970s. The 1975 album Red Headed Stranger established him as a musician of the first rank. Nelson’s long list of awards includes two special Grammys (the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Legend award) and the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award from The Academy of Country Music for “unprecedented and genre-defying contributions to popular music.”
Willie’s hits include “Night Life,” “Crazy,” “Hello Walls,” “Funny How Time Slips Away,” “Willingly,” “Touch Me,” “Bring Me Sunshine,” “Stay All Night (Stay a Little Longer),” “Bloody Mary Morning,” “After the Fire Is Gone,” “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “Good Hearted Woman,” “Remember Me,” “If You’ve Got the Money I’ve Got the Time,” “Uncloudy Day,” “I Love You a Thousand Ways,” “Something to Brag About,” “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” “On the Road Again,” “Always on My Mind,” “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before,” and “Highwayman.”
On September 17th, 2013 Old Crow Medicine Show received the great honor of being inducted as the newest members of the historic Grand Ole Opry. Other highlights from the year included winning the Grammy Award for “Best Long Form Music Video” for the film Big Easy Express, and having their classic single, “Wagon Wheel”, receive the RIAA’s Platinum certification for selling over 1,000,000 copies.
It’s been nearly fifteen years since their humble beginnings, and the band has gone on to tour the world, sell over 800,000 albums, become frequent guests on A Prairie Home Companion, and play renowned festivals like Bonnaroo, Coachella, and the Newport Folk Festival.
