Sinclair's Gospel Ensemble and Opera/Musical Theatre Ensemble
The concert will feature the Sinclair Contemporary Gospel Ensemble and the Opera/Musical Theatre Ensemble. This year will feature music scenes revolved around the theme of "Romance & Royalty." The concert will feature staged scenes from The King and I by Rogers and Hammerstein, La Boheme by Puccini, Amahl and the Night Visitors by Menotti, The Magic Flute by Mozart, and Disney's The Lion King. The Gospel Ensemble will present inspirational Gospel music by artists such as Anthony Evans, Crystal Aikin, Lamar Campbell, and Lindell Cooley. They will also join the Music Theatre/Opera Ensemble in the presentation of the scene from The Lion King. Both groups will join together to share a little traditional holidary carol or two. Conducted by Daniel B. Greene and also featuring faculty members Stephanie Voelker and Blaine Heeter III along with SCC students in the vocal performance program. Katherine Frauman and Michael Napper are the pianists for the evening. Free and open to the public in Blair Hall Theatre, Building 2 on the downtown Dayton campus.
