Catacoustic Consort in Yellow Springs
An all-female ensemble will perform an enchanting selection of Italian and French Baroque music on Sunday, February 5, at 4 PM. Presented by Chamber Music in Yellow Springs, the Catacoustic Consort's concert is the only one scheduled in the US this spring. Established originally in Cincinnati, the group's founder--Annalisa Pappano--now lives in Germany; she is returning exclusively for this performance. Pappano will perform on several early stringed instruments, including the lirone and the pardessus de viole; she will be joined by Joanna Blendulf (also on the pardessus), Melissa Harvey (soprano), and Elizabeth Motter (Baroque harp). A question-and-answer session with the performers will follow the concert.
