Honor Flight Dayton homecoming

Help Us Give Our Veterans the Homecoming They Deserve!

You are invited to join us for the Honor Flight Dayton homecoming on September 12, 2026. The plane is scheduled to arrive back at the Dayton International Airport around 8:15pm. Help show our appreciation to these men and women for the sacrifice they made for our country by coming to the airport to greet the flight when they return home.

The Honor Flight Dayton homecoming is one of the most moving events of the year, but since the COVID pandemic, the greeting crowds at the airport have been smaller than usual, especially upstairs from the gate to the escalators * see #2 below. Let’s change that!

As these brave men and women de-plane after a long, emotional day visiting their memorials, let’s make sure that from the time they step off the plane to they are greeted by a roaring crowd and the welcome only Daytonians can give them.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT TO ATTEND

You have two options to welcome home our veterans:

1️⃣ Join us near the airline ticket counters: Clap and cheer as we come out at the end of the evening. There will be the Young Marines/JROTC/Civil Air Patrol units and many other groups in attendance as well. This is a great way to welcome our veterans back. We will be getting out there at roughly 7:00pm.

2️⃣ * Welcome us at the gate: In order to do this, you must get your gate pass from American Airlines before 8:00pm in order to get through TSA before it closes. *You will need a federally compliant ID (REAL ID or Passport!) to get through security.* Children under 13 will not need an ID.

Please note: It takes a good bit of time for the veterans to exit the airplane, especially for those who are in wheel chairs. Once all veterans are off the plane, we will parade down stairs to the airport lobby.
