When: January 12-February 16, 2027 (6 weeks)

Time: Tuesdays 6:30-9pm

Cost: $250

Instructor: Chris Morlight

Ages: 16+

Designed for the complete beginner to wheel throwing pottery. This class will teach the basics: wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, glazing, and studio etiquette, no experience necessary. We will cover at least three basic pottery shapes. We will spend 4 weeks throwing and 2 weeks on glazing and finishing work.

All 6 week classes include: use of studio tools, 25 lbs. of clay, bisque and cone 10 reduction glaze firing, and open studio time to practice, alternating Saturday or Sunday (11am-5pm) throughout the 6 weeks of class. Available open studio dates will be published on the JBCP website calendar. All students are expected to follow studio policies as outlined in class and posted in the studio. Each student may purchase up to 25 lbs of clay in addition to the clay included in their registration.

Winter can be unexpected, if there are weather delays we will do our best to work with everyone to make up class times as best we can.

All JBCP classes have a minimum enrollment that must be met for the class to hold.
