Beginning Improv: Comedy Skills for Life

Do you love watching shows like Saturday Night Live or Whose Line Is It Anyway? Ever wonder how improv comedians create hilarious scenes spontaneously in front of a live audience? In this 8-week workshop, you will learn the fundamentals skills of comedic improvisation through group exercises and games. Even if you are not interested in becoming an improv comedian, our beginning class will equip you with valuable life skills such as listening, creative thinking, teamwork, character development, establishing point of view and intention, and public speaking.

No experience necessary. Students ages 17+ will learn in a safe environment where they can feel free to express ideas, receive feedback, and be treated with respect from other students and the instructor. Our classes and performances offer a higher standard of creativity that is 100% free of vulgarity and off-color content -- because life is funny enough without them! Students will have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience as an improv troupe on Friday, May 23.

Instructor: Matt Barnard
Fee:  $95/student; Student should bring a notebook and pen.
