The Tikes Shoppe
Did you know about this secret little store located in the Schuster Center Wintergarden at Second & Ludlow?
It's called "The Tike’s Shoppe" - and we're not kidding, it is the perfect place to take your kids this Christmas.
The Tike's Shoppe is a shopping experience designed exclusively for children. With a short door, moms and dads are not allowed in. Don't worry though - you get to set the budget before they enter the store (most gifts are priced between $0.50 and $14). Then, parents wait outside while the kids shop with the help of "elves" who assist them in selecting gifts for parents and family that stay within their budgets. After they make their selections, they even get help to gift-wrap their purchases!
The origins of The Tike’s Shop can be traced back decades to the Rike’s Department Store, and has become quite a draw in the run-up to the holidays. Nothing at The Tike’s Shoppe will break the bank, but the memories will last a lifetime. Do not forget to take a photo!
While you're in the Schuster Wintergarden, families can also enjoy the animated Rikes Wonderland Windows. Bonus - check the times below and you might even squeeze in a visit with Santa!

- Nov. 30 – 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Dec. 1 – noon-6 p.m
- Dec. 7 – 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Dec. 8 – noon – 5 p.m.
- Dec. 13 – 3-7 p.m.
- Dec. 14 – 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Dec. 15 – noon-6 p.m.
- Dec. 19 & 20 – 3-7 p.m.
- Dec. 21 & 22 – 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Dec. 23 – 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Santa Claus will be available for visits and photos for all open days 2-5 p.m.
The Tike's Shoppe is managed by YES! for Youth. Additional support comes from ABC 22/FOX 45 and the Victoria Theatre Association.
