SEWING BEYOND THE BASICS SUMMER CAMP – 2 DAY
Day 1 – Bedroom Wall Banner with Applique Design
Day 2 -Small fabric boxes & Scrunchies
Prerequisites: Sewing Basics or comp skills
Beginner_sewist
The student can thread the machine and fill a bobbin, understands basic sewing terms, cutting and seam allowance
What you will learn:
Casings
Feeding fabric through casings
Seam Allowance
Boxed Bottoms
Sewing with Kraftex paper fabric
Hemming raw edges
Installing a zipper
Ages: 13-17
Max Students: 6
***(please advise in the notes section when registering if you have a machine or need to use one)
Bring:
Snack daily – please bring (no nuts or sugary drinks/snacks please)
Sewing Machine (You can borrow one of mine)
Small Sewing Kit (Scissors, pins, etc.)
Thread(Black, White or Med Grey work best unless you want to purchase matching threads for each project)
Sewing Scissors
2 fat quarters(or) 1/2 yard of quilting cotton (fabric boxes)
Kraftexfor Fabric boxes
1/2 Yard of Medium Weight Denim (banner)
2 fat quarters– zipper pouch
Supplies provided by the instructor:
Sewing machine for those that need to borrow one (please note in registration if you will need one)
Dowl Rod for banner
Cotton and elastic for Scrunchies
Felt scraps for banner applique
Interfacing for a zipper pouch
9″ zipper for the zipper pouch
